Looking for something different? I am in love with using our vinegar as the liquid component for icing as it adds a delicious tang that off sets the sweetness of the sugar! I owe credit to @itsholly for making it first with our hibiscus vinegar!If we’re just baking for ourselves at home we usually use coconut sugar or sucanant. Just make sure you grind them fine otherwise it will be quite gritty. The color is significantly darker but adds so much yummy caramel flavor— if that works with whatever your’re making!
We did use ground coconut sugar in this video, which contributed to the darker color. We also recommend using sucanant as a sugar option.For a piping bag; ziploc bag with tip cut off works, as well as small measuring cup with a pouring tip.
